SyncDroid Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

SyncDroid is an Android app that transfers files between folders and storage locations selected by the user. For questions about the app or privacy, contact devforlemon@gmail.com.

1. Information the app processes

Files may contain personal information about the user or other people. Users choose which files to transfer and the destination storage.

2. Purposes and transfer destinations

The app uses this information to access folders, connect accounts, transfer files as configured by the user, run jobs automatically, recover from failures and display history. File contents and related metadata are transferred to the destination storage selected by the user. When cloud sign-in is used, requests needed for authentication are sent to that service.

The app does not use a payment or AI server operated by the developer and does not include its own advertising or analytics SDKs. There is no feature that collects users' source files on a separate developer server. The cloud services and servers selected by the user process and retain information according to their operators' policies and settings.

If you connect to Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, also review their policies: Google Privacy Policy and Microsoft Privacy Statement. Sign-in services may process account and connection information needed to provide their services under their own policies. Authentication requests may include connection-environment and request-diagnostic information, such as the app version, operating system, device manufacturer and model.

3. Information stored on the device and security

Job settings, history and connection information are kept in the app's storage area on the device. Connection secrets stored by the app, such as server passwords and SSH keys, are encrypted using Android Keystore. Cloud authentication tokens are managed by the connection implementation or the authentication SDK's cache policy. Android automatic backup of app data is disabled.

Metadata and temporary copies of files waiting to upload may remain in the app's private storage area to support transfer recovery. Metadata in the Drive transfer recovery journal is encrypted. The app does not apply separate app-level encryption to ordinary job settings, sync baselines, other recovery information or the contents of temporary files. Temporary transfer files and backup files may also be created in selected folders or on remote servers.

Protection during transfer depends on the connection type and server settings. Transfer contents may be unencrypted over FTP, NFS or an unencrypted SMB connection. For sensitive files, choose a connection that supports encryption and use trusted storage.

4. Retention and deletion

The app stores settings and recent run history on the device to provide its features. Deleting a job removes it from the job list but does not also erase all existing run history, sync baselines and recovery information. When a connection is deleted, the app attempts to delete that connection's current secrets. Deleting individual items does not guarantee that all previously stored information is removed.

Clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes the app's private storage area. The app attempts to clean up temporary files from successfully completed transfers, but temporary copies and backups may remain after a failure, interruption or while recovery is pending. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app does not by itself clean up temporary files and backups in selected folders or on remote servers.

Clearing app data or uninstalling the app does not by itself delete files already present in the selected source folders or destination storage. Manage destination files and cloud data directly in that storage.

5. Your choices

You can use the Android folder picker to choose folders the app may access, turn off a job's automatic runs or delete a job. You can change app permissions, such as notifications, in device settings. You can disconnect a cloud connection or revoke the app's access in the service's account settings. Disconnecting a connection may prevent related jobs from running correctly.

SyncDroid does not create its own user accounts. Handle account deletion and data rights for external services, such as Google and Microsoft, through those services.

6. Information you send when contacting support

If you send an email inquiry, your email address, message and any materials you attach are used to respond to it. The email service may process and retain these emails. Do not include passwords, SSH private keys, access tokens or sensitive file contents in your inquiry. Before sending necessary logs, remove personal information such as account names, server addresses and file paths.

7. Changes and contact

If features or information handling change, this document and its revision date will be updated. Contact: devforlemon@gmail.com.

You can read this policy in the app without an internet connection. It is also available on the public website. The public website is hosted by Cloudflare and does not include separate advertising or analytics scripts. When you visit the website, the hosting service may process your IP address and browser and request information to deliver the page and maintain security. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Reading the policy in the app does not automatically connect to this website.
